What if you could just ask your booking system a question, in plain English, from the AI assistant you already use, and get a straight answer? “What jet-ski slots are open next Saturday afternoon?” “How much is owed on booking A2JF6C55?” “What activities does this location offer?” That’s exactly what the new Resytech MCP server makes possible.
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to real data and tools. Think of it as a universal adapter: once your assistant speaks MCP, it can talk to any system that offers an MCP server. Resytech now offers one, so assistants like Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any other MCP-compatible client can read information straight from your Resytech account.
You connect once with an MCP token you generate in the dashboard, and from then on your assistant can look things up for you on demand. No exporting spreadsheets, no digging through screens, no copy-paste.
What you can ask
The token unlocks a set of tools your assistant calls automatically whenever a question needs them:
- List your locations and activities: “What activities does this location offer?”
- Look up activity details: durations, options, and more for any activity.
- Check availability: “What kayak slots are open next Friday?” across any date range.
- Find and read bookings: “Show me pending bookings for next month,” or “Look up A2JF6C55, what time and how much owed?”
Because it plugs into the assistant you already work in, you can go further than a lookup: ask it to summarize the weekend’s schedule, draft a note to a customer using their booking details, or spot which slots still have room, all in the same conversation.
Read-only by design
This is the part worth underlining: the MCP server is read-only. An assistant connected through it can look things up, but it cannot create, change, or cancel anything: no editing bookings, no moving money, no touching your settings. You get the convenience of asking questions without handing an AI the keys to your operation.
You control exactly what it can see
Every token is scoped when you create it, and the permissions stack so you grant only what you intend:
- Activities & availability: the safest option. Your assistant can answer scheduling questions but sees no customer data at all.
- Bookings: search and read bookings (date, time, status, balance, confirmation code), with customer name, email, and phone redacted.
- Customer details: reveals that contact info on results, for staff who look customers up by name or email.
Tokens are also scoped to the specific locations you choose. So you might give a front-desk assistant availability-only access, while a manager’s assistant can look up bookings by customer, each with its own token.
Built to be safe
Access like this only makes sense if it’s locked down, so it is:
- The plaintext token is shown once at creation and only a hash is stored, so treat it like a password.
- Only administrators can create, disable, or revoke tokens, so regular staff can’t mint customer-PII access.
- You can disable a token instantly (and re-enable it later) or revoke it permanently, which is ideal when rotating credentials or when someone leaves.
- Every connection is HTTPS, and each token is rate-limited to guard against a runaway client.
Connecting takes a couple of minutes
In the dashboard, open Location Settings → MCP Tokens, click Create Token, pick your locations and permissions, and copy the token that appears (you’ll only see it once). Then point your AI client at mcp.resytech.com with that token in the Authorization header. Claude Desktop, Cursor, and most other clients are supported. The MCP documentation has copy-paste setup for each.
A quick note on where we’re headed
Today’s MCP server is for operators and is read-only, the foundation we wanted to get right first. Customer-facing availability lookups, activity-level scoping, and (carefully) write actions are all on the roadmap.
